ABOUT

The Middletown Historical Society is a non-profit organization founded in 1966.  This year is our 56th year of preserving our rich history for our city.

Our mission: "The Middletown Historical Society is committed to preserving and documenting the history of Middletown, and to promoting knowledge and interest in the history of Middletown and its people.

We operate two locations: The Canal Museum is located at 1605 North Verity Parkway on the outskirts of Smith Park, and the Shartle House.  It is located at 120 North Verity Parkway near the corner of Verity and Manchester.

The Historical Society is not funded by the City of Middletown, but by donations and bequests made to the society.  We are thankful for any donations.   See the Donate and Membership tabs to get more information.
