The Middletown Historical Society operates three locations that are house different collections and are open at different times.
The Shartle House Museum
The Shartle House is located between Verity Parkway and Donham Plaza and houses many exhibits including those on Armco/AK Steel, Founders of Middletown, Disasters in Middletown and many more.
Our Canal Museum is located on the outskirts of Smith Park on the former Hyrdraulic Canal and is a replica of a Locktender's House along the Miami Erie Canal. This museum houses items pertaining to the Miami Erie Canal.
Middletown Historical Society Archives - The Windemere
Our massive archives are housed at the former Historic Oglesby and Barnitz Bank, now the Windemere. Our Archives Team are always busy adding more to the expansive collection.

Carnegie Library
In the early days of the Middletown Historical Society, early meetings and presentations were hosted at the Historic Carnegie Library on First Avenue.
Pickwick Building
The Middletown Historical Society purchased the Historic Pickwick Building, one of the oldest buildings in Downtown Middletown in 2000. The Pickwick served as the main museum from 2000-2013 when the Society acquired the Shartle House.
